Turkey Run is a lovely park with over 14 miles of easy to very rugged hiking trails. Deep canyons nestled in the shadows of sandstone cliffs and peaceful hemlock groves harbor some of the most ruggedly beautiful hiking trails in the Midwest.

8:50am from David & Ruth’s house: 1706 Pleasant St. Urbana
9:00am from South Laundry in Orchard Downs
9:15am from Illini Union (north door)
In case of rain or a bad weather forecast trip may be canceled (check email in the morning)
(Please let me know if you need a ride from another location)
Lunch: At the park we will cook hot dogs, chips, fruit… – You are welcome to bring additional food to share if you like. (Please let me know if you have any dietary restrictions).
Return: We will gather to leave the park at 4:00 and return to C-U approximately 5:30pm
Bring: Be sure to wear comfortable shoes that may get wet or muddy, camera and water bottle. (Rain jacket – if it may be needed) Bring some simple food or snacks to share (optional)
Cost: Suggested donation of $20 to cover the cost of gas, park admission, and lunch (Children $10).
